We’ve crossed the largest ocean in the world in one long night.
We’ve crossed the international date line and made it through the subsequent jet lag.
We’ve packed up a life and taken up another.
We are here.
These first two weeks back have been brim-full, happy, but also taxing. In such a transition, I have to remind myself to take time to just breathe and notice. Notice the birds singing out of the open windows. Notice the sadness arising because they aren’t tuis. We were lucky to live where tuis sing in flame trees!
