The Mahinepua Peninsula is a stunning series of hills extending into the Bay of Islands on the east coast of New Zealand. The Department of Conservation track is newly upgraded with stairs; judging from the number of fellow-hikers we met, it’s a popular track.
It took us about an hour and a half to reach the end and come back the same way, most of the time climbing or descending steep slopes. It certainly would make the world’s most beautiful roller coaster ride. Though I tend to scream on those and that would rather ruin the majestic aspect of this place. This may be my favorite hike so far.
You might be able to tell from A’s expression that there was a bit of a breeze up on this cliff.
