Waiotemarama Gorge and Woodworks

We drove up Waiotemarama Gorge this afternoon with the promise of rain hanging overhead and the cows ranging high on the hills.

Louis Toorenburg, puzzler and woodworker, has a really fun shop and puzzle museum (called Labyrinth Woodworks) next door to the Waiotemarama waterfall trailhead.

The peacock likes to stand on the porch and greet newcomers. It doesn’t like to be touched, though.

Some puzzles for little cousins:

The track up to the falls is a pretty little hike.

Gray day and umbrella ferns overhead.
