Sunday hike: Green Mountain

Winding up the second-highest peak on the Kitsap peninsula, the trail at Green Mountain State Forest is an easy and beautiful hike. This afternoon we encountered brilliant sun and rushing Gold Creek, and pockets of intricate hoarfrost and ice along the trail.

Some sun for the psyche.

  1. What a beautiful hike! I often think that I should spend my Sunday afternoons exploring the amazing beauty of the area in which we live. But I have established a tradition of Sunday Naps that is just too hard to break. So while your family is off communing with Mother Nature, I’m curled up sound asleep in my quiet napping house. Keep posting your pictures and I’ll just live vicariously through you. ๐Ÿ™‚

By the way, thank you (and Kate) so much for your musical number today. Her voice is so pure and precious. And I always love to hear you play the piano.

  2. Hi Brooke! Lol, naps are very nice too. There’s an open invitation to you and yours to come hiking with us if you ever get Sunday-insomnia, k? ๐Ÿ™‚

And thanks–I’ll pass that along to Kate.

  3. Thanks for sharing this, Ashley. It looks like a wonderful hike. I love hearing about places people “discover” nearby. Like Brooke, we have a Sunday nap habit, so we’ll have to give it a try on a weekday, or Saturday.
