Learning to teach, learning to ride

March 31st, 2010 § 4 Comments

Big week here at chez C. As my last post indicated, I’m finally in daily classes for my Masters in Teaching program at the University of Washington. I so love this campus. Here’s my home base, Miller Hall:

One of my favorite spots on campus is the Grieg Garden, overseen by an oversized bust of Edvard Grieg. On a sunny day, you just might find me on this bench, tucked away in a little blissful corner. If my eyes chance to stray from required readings, I can just look up and see:

The other thing spring has brought is Spring Break for the kiddos, with Papa B. home for the caretaking. Today they rode bikes and A. learned to ride his bike without training wheels! By the time I got home at 5:30, he was hopping up and down with the excitement of showing me how he could get started, go up and down the hill, and navigate the circle all by himself!

Yesterday morning Auntie M had to run 5 miles for her training regimen (1/2 marathon in Coeur d’Alene this month), so we rented bikes from Spoke N’ Sport on Division Street and had a great Saturday morning ride. There were a lot of people out in the sunshine on the Centennial Trail, some just out for the fun of it like us, and some already in town for Bloomsday.
